Sara McLanahan and Kathy Edin would like to announce the promotion of Kristin Catena to Research Manager of the Future of Families and Child Wellbeing Study (FFCWS) Projects.
Kristin came to the study as a part time Researcher in 2014 and was hired full time as a Research Specialist II in August of 2015.
In the last six years she has worked on every stage of a wave of FFCWS including grant proposal writing, survey design, IRB protocol management, participant locating and recruitment, survey fielding, data cleaning and documentation, preliminary analysis, public release and promotion of the data, publication, and support of external researchers. In this position, Kristin will not only put her excellent detailed organizational skills to work but she will hold a unique role that bridges the understanding of our two largest research studies in CRCW – FFCWS and the American Voices Project – because she has worked tirelessly on both projects.
Kristin earned her Masters of Arts at Rutgers University in Women’s & Gender Studies, she is the vice-president of Princeton’s Employee Resource Group’s Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender network and recently has graduated from Princeton’s Management Development Certificate Program. She earned her Bachelor of Arts from Susquehanna University, graduating Magna Cum Laude and is an accomplished harpist.
We are thrilled that Kristin will be stepping in Kate’s (large) shoes and that Kate will be mentoring her for the month of May as we complete this transition.
